How To Date A Stripper
106 pages      Comedy

Logline: Upon turning 40 and discovering his wife is cheating on him, a man forms a bond with a stripper at a club and risks his future to pursue her in real life.

Overall, "How to Date a Stripper" is a fun and unique concept that distinguishes itself from other scripts of the same kind through its humanistic look at strippers, creating a three dimensional character with a family, financial struggles and a life outside her job. The humanistic world view of the screenplay also extends to the male protagonist, who is going
through a life-crises himself. One of the strongest parts of the script is the interesting relationship between Chris and Jasmyn, because of their differing backgrounds and instant
connection. The eventual payoff is super effective because of how well we've gotten to know these likeable characters.

The Other
112 pages     Grounded Sci-Fi

Logline: A man still recovering from the crash that killed his pregnant wife discovers an alternate version of himself whose wife and child survived.

“The Other” is a thought-provoking and intense sci-fi drama with an intriguing premise and strong characters. There are a lot of directions the script could go with this starting point, and it is easy to imagine this story as a horror, and an original, engaging one at that. Yet the script is more interested in drama, the hard-hitting, human pathos. Alpha David is an incredibly poignant character with a uniquely tragic situation. He has the pain of survivor’s guilt, now multiplied by an unbearable vision of a life he lost, a family that is not his but so close to what could have been. Beta David is not a demonic villain, but a real person with a life he deserves, now troubled by a doppelganger he cannot understand. When they clash, it can lead to something more painful than grief, and we are gripped, on the edge of our seats, waiting to see if it will lead to violence or catharsis.

Somewhere Safe
111 pages      Contained Thriller

Logline: A vial containing a deadly pathogen is stolen from a lab by 2 petty criminals triggering the building to go into lock-down mode trapping them inside. Now only the night-shift janitor and lab worker can get it back into containment before time runs out at sunrise.

This script grabs you from the opening pages, and doesn't let go. Being able to keep the reader engaged with both plot lines that are running alongside each other in the same location - Raff and Tia and Victoria and Steven - is an achievement. The moments in which you choose to cut from one to the other keeps the tension high and really keeps the reader hooked on both scenarios. The structure keeps you reading to see what happens to each of these sets of characters and how they will eventually come together. When you do bring these separate plot lines together and all the characters meet and interact, it feels logical and believable for the story as a whole.
